There are 2 chief varieties of the coffee plant; Coffea arabica is the basic coffee, and regarded best in taste. Robusta, which contains more caffeine, relatively cultivated in arenas where Arabica will not expand, leading to its use as an inexpensive substitute for Arabica in many industrial coffee products. Robusta isn't commonly consumed by itself, because of its bitter and acidic flavor. Best superior Robustas are listed as factors in a select few espresso blends.
