How do you make coffee without a filter or paper towels?

I’m visiting my sister and she only has coffee and a coffee maker but no filters and no paper towels. So.. How do make a cup of Joe?

Heat up a pan with 4 cups of water. When it comes to a boil, turn off the heat source and put in 4 tablespoons of fresh coffee grounds. (a tablespoon of fresh coffee grounds for every cup of water in the pan.)
let it set for about 4 minutes then stir it a little. Strain the grounds through a clean cloth and enjoy your coffee.

Does she have any teabags? You can pull out the little staple, empty out the tea, and pour in a teaspoon or so of coffee grounds in there. Then just use the string to tie it back up.
If she doesn’t have any tea bags, then just pour the coffee in, make it how you normally would, minus the filter. Once it’s made, let it sit for a few minutes, and allow the ground to settle to the bottom. Then carefully pour, or even ladle the coffee out, so as to get as little grounds in your cup as possible!

Does she have a sieve or another type of strainer? If so, pour your coffee thru that.

crossing the US in wagon trains they dumped the grounds in the pot brought to a boil and set off to the side to keep warm for a short rest and the grounds would settle to the bottom
some good cooks dropped a few egg shells in to clarify the coffee
it also absorbs a lot of the acids making a smooth cup of joe

Make "Cowboy Coffee" Boil the coffee grounds in water then add egg shells. The grounds will settle to the bottom of the pot, you can add a cup of cold water and it will do the same thing. Just make sure to pour slowly or you will stir up the grounds.
