The closest without getting too bitter is about two and a half to three table spoons of instant coffee.
An espresso machine uses a lot of pressure to extract the flavor from coffee so you really can't replicate the taste with instant to matter how hard you stir…

better to buy instant espresso powder. comes much closer to the flavor of fresh espresso than instant coffee does.

If you like espresso run away from instant coffee… Buy an espresso machine… I bought one, now I can make great cappuccinos at home… And it's not so complicate to operate and it's very fast to do, not for a large group because you can only do 2 at time.
