Just For Coffee Lovers

I use Dunkin Donuts ground coffee and so does my brother. His coffee is consistently excellent(by the way we have identical coffee makers), while mine is not. What combination of coffee type, ground, measurement and whatever makes for an excellent cup of coffee?

My mom tells me to put half the amount of spoonfuls than the cups of water. For instance, to use 4 spoonfuls of coffee for 8 cups of water. However it never tastes right when I make it. We use the same spoon every day so that measurement is right. How do you make coffee? [...]
